Kevin Mitchell, Founder & CEO
I began my career as a CPA, then joined a boutique investment bank in Chicago. I worked on sell-side mandates for everything from public companies to founder-led businesses—and quickly realized I loved being in the room when big decisions were made.

From there, I joined an institutional private equity firm with $1.5 billion under management, where I was active in deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio governance. But I didn’t want to just invest in businesses—I wanted to build and operate.

So in 2003, I relocated to San Diego and jumped into the startup world. Over the years, I’ve held business development, CFO, and CEO roles across a range of industries—automotive, e-commerce, food & beverage, manufacturing, and distribution. I’ve acquired businesses, led teams, and navigated both growth and complexity from the inside.

Founding Exit Consultants
In 2020, I founded Mitchell Capital as a family office and platform for my deal-making. But after seeing too many business owners enter an M&A process unprepared—and watching deals fall apart again and again—I knew I could alter outcomes and change the course of lives. This problem was especially widespread in the lower middle market, where even strong companies were failing to cross the finish line.

I launched Exit Consultants in 2025 to help owners take control of their exit, reduce risk, and unlock the value they’ve spent a lifetime building.
